Early Life and Playing Career
Oliver Glasner was born on August 28, 1974, in Riedau, Austria. He began his football career at the local youth academy before moving to SV Ried in 1993. As a defender, Glasner played for several clubs in Austria and Germany, including LASK Linz, SV Mattersburg, and Wacker Burghausen.Managerial Career
After retiring from professional football, Glasner started his managerial career at LASK Linz in 2009. He guided the team to promotion to the Austrian Bundesliga in 2011 and won the Austrian Cup in 2013. In 2015, he was appointed manager of Salzburg and led them to two Austrian Bundesliga titles and a UEFA Europa League quarterfinal in 2018.In 2019, Glasner became the manager of Eintracht Frankfurt. Under his management, the club won the UEFA Europa League in 2022, their first major European trophy in over 40 years. Glasner also led Eintracht Frankfurt to the UEFA Champions League semifinals in 2023.
