Sterling on target as England start Euro 2020 campaign with narrow victory
Raheem Sterling's second-half strike gave England a winning start to their Euro 2020 campaign as they beat Croatia 1-0 at Wembley.
The Manchester City forward struck just after the hour mark, capitalizing on a mistake from Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic to fire home from close range.
It was a deserved win for England, who dominated possession and created the better chances throughout the game.
Croatia had few clear-cut openings, but they did test England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford with a number of long-range efforts.
The win gives England a great start to their Euro 2020 campaign, and they will now face Scotland in their next game on Friday.
Croatia, meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back when they face the Czech Republic on Friday.
